You’re invited to Preserve Granbury’s fourth annual Preservation Picnic on Saturday, May 11 at noon at Lambert Branch Park in Granbury.

The picnic will be preceded by Preserve Granbury’s annual membership meeting at 11 a.m., where directors will be elected for three-year terms.

The Preservation Picnic lunch will be free for members of Preserve Granbury and $10 for guests. You must make reservations to come to the picnic, so be sure and contact the directors listed at the end of the article and make your reservations.

During the picnic, Preserve Granbury’s directors and officers will present the group’s annual preservation awards. Awards are given for Preservation Projects of the Year and Preservationists of the Year.

Last year’s winners included the Tarleton State University as Preservationist of the Year for its stewardship of the Langdon Center and for donating the center to the community. Scott and Viki Young received Preservation Project of the year for their restoration of the old bank building on the southwest corner of the town square. Shelbie Miller received Preservation Project of the Year for her restoration of Heaven Hill Bed and Breakfast on East Bridge Street. Preservation Projects of the Year.
