Preserve Granbury continues it’s annual support of Granbury Education Foundation

Preserve Granbury Continues to support the Granbury Education Foundation with a yearly donation of $2,500 focusing on funding History projects. We competed in the annual 50 Fellas Food Fest and received 2nd place in the dessert category. Our 2nd place winning recipe for Mexican Hot Chocolate Truffles was a crowd favorite!

Preserve Granbury Supports GRANBURY ISD

In 2019, Preserve Granbury donated $2500 to the Granbury Education Fund for use in a history related activity. Every year Preserve Granbury has a team competing at the Granbury Education Foundation’s 50 Fellas Foodfest.  The event is 50 teams of two men who will prepare and serve an appetizer, entrée, or dessert of their choice in small one-bite samples.

Each category of food is judged by those who attend.  So far the Preserve Granbury Teams have not earned the bragging rights as the best dish, but we keep on trying.

Preserve Granbury is also a sponsor for the event, with the donation we provide earmarked for history education.  This year, our donation helped fund the Civil Rights trip for five UIL history students.  Two GISD students were interviewed at the Daisy Bates Museum in Little Rock and you can see them on YouTube https://youtu.be/5n3CDtFW45g and https://youtu.be/IYpvtO4_wpA  and there are links of the Daisy Bates webpage under more/videos. Our students were moved by their experiences.

Preserve Granbury supports the GISD history fair by helping to judge the entries. Winners receive prizes from Preserve Granbury.
Preserve Granbury lead the classes of Acton 3rd grade students on a tour of some of the historic buildings around the square in the spring of 2016 and 2017. About 140 students participated and lots of interesting questions were asked as they learned about the history of Hood County.
